Working with Padma Shakti as a business coach first and formost impacted my personal
responsibility as owner of two Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Texas. Showing up as the highest
level of integrity within my own organization has different components and ripple effects on the
rest of management, teachers and students. In order to achieve that, there is a need for
concentric levels of training and learning, instead of hierarchic systems of leadership.
Working with executive coaching has taught me to reveal my own patterns of deception,
victim hood or superiority. Authority only works when you are willing to be curious on what does
not work within your organization and taking responsibility for what you created. Working on
personal strengths and weaknesses helps gain clarity on what is needed in my business
Training Staff is an important part of culminating growth within studios. The more agile and
knowledgeable your teachers are, the more growth there will be in student body count and
student growth as well. But the way we do so, has to do with allowing teachers to grow and
make mistakes as well. The old view is training teachers in a linear way and hoping for the
best. When every one has the chance to learn in layers over and over again, the integration is
so much deeper.
On Strategy Padma Shakti is not afraid to bring up the uncomfortable topics. Most leaders
have a hard time delegating tasks and objectives to their team, and have issues around
controlling the outcome. Living and working from principles that are aligned with your higher
goal helps keeping the eyes on the ball and not reacting to short term losses. That requires a
strong vision. Working with executive coaching made me more aware of my long term vision.
Scaling your business comes with new challenges. Being the force behind the business instead
of working in the business. Through Quantum Edge and working with Padma, we are learning
to strategize on different levels to build a team that works together effortless, and where trust is
the key component in having micro teams work on the bigger picture.
